Hoodia Gordonii May See FDA Approval

A pharmaceutical development company based in London, England has announced they will be seeking FDA approval for their Hoodia Gordonii compound. Phytopharm Plc. is partnered with Anglo-Dutch giant Unilever and will be working towards submission of their Hoodia extract for FDA approval by late 2009. This could be a first for Hoodia Gordonii diet products available in the US market.

Currently products containing Hoodia Gordonii do not have FDA approval. There are many weight loss diet pills available containing the plant extract Hoodia however they are in the form of health supplements and the FDA does not approve supplements.
